Eros Sanchez

I am a student at the University of Tampa pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre with a double major in Journalism. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain and am proud of my Venezuelan heritage. For the last decade I have been residing in the United States and am located in the Central Florida area when not at the University. My love for the stage began my sophomore year of high school after arriving at the prestigious Montverde Academy. 
 

The second semester of my sophomore year was marked by watching Sunday in the Park with George, the popular Stephen Sondheim musical. I was thoroughly touched by many of the ideas this show provides. Quotes like “Children and Art”, “Anything you do let it come from you, then it will be new”,  and “Finishing the Hat”,  became the daily mantras that only further made me fall in love with the art and impact that live theatre can manifest.
 

An amazing mentor once told me that “The art we make remakes the world”, and that is what I want to impart on the world in every performance, concert, recital, film, or project that I ever get the blessing to take part in. Every time I get on stage is a new opportunity to change someone’s life the same way my life was changed that spring. I hope to only keep polishing my talent, my craft, and my skills to keep telling stories that can carve the way for new generations to keep finding the drive and the passion to make art that promotes kindness and sincerity in a world where that may not always be the norm.

Thank you for being here and for taking the time to step into my world. I’m excited for the endless possibilities the future can provide and I am always awaiting the next opportunity to make art with likeminded people.
